What is a tubeless tyre?

A tubeless tyre no longer needs an inner tube to be inflated. Tubeless tyres and tubeless-compatible rims are designed to create an airtight seal.

To set up tubeless correctly, you must use tubeless-ready tyres and rims, along with a tubeless valve and sealant.

Tubeless tyres are available for almost every cycling discipline.

For both MTB and road riding, tubeless systems offer clear advantages:

  • Lower rolling resistance compared to tube setups
  • Improved comfort thanks to lower pressures
  • Better grip and control, especially on rough surfaces
  • Reduced pinch-flat risk
  • Enhanced puncture protection when used with sealant

Combining a tubeless tyre with quality sealant provides an excellent balance of performance, comfort, and reliability.
